Competition
Students are able to compete at both National and International level as part of our 'Elite Performers Teams'
Competitions are not something we do regularly - as our main priorities are professional performances, but they are a fantastic way for our students to win titles, acquire trophies, exercise performance skills, recognise achievements and of course make wonderful memories whilst having amazing fun!

Examinations

Accredited Examination Boards: BTDA - British Theatre Dance Association / RAD - Royal Academy of Dance / LAMDA - London Academy of Dramatic Art / LCM - London College of Music / Acrobatic Arts
From Pre-Preparatory through to Diploma in Dance Teaching and Management our Gqal/Ofqual regulated examinations also support UCAS points
Graded qualifications are an excellent way to manage progress and provide a thorough understanding of theory and technique
Theatre
Holding major contracts, BSS are able to promote our students in professional productions, such as pantomime at the Birmingham Hippodrome – where students work with Olivier and BAFTA Award Winning Directors and Choreographers
We are very proud to have received written accreditation from Disneyland Paris for our outstanding performance and professionalism

TV/Film
We are very proud to have a strong student and teacher alumni at BSS
Students have gone on to become successful Actors/Actresses appearing in television and feature films. Companies include: Netflix / BBC / ITV / Channel 4 / Disney / Nickelodeon

Modelling
Students selected for professional representation are able to fulfil some very exciting and rewarding opportunities. Students are also able to audition directly to model dance wear for catalogues, websites and social media
Representing companies including: Mothercare, Audi, Jaguar, to events at the NEC, including: Hair Show / The Clothes Show / Motor Show Live through to full commercial campaigns appearing in Vogue Bambini/Junior Magazine/CWB Magazine/IDS
Agency
Having over 50 years experience in the industry, we have established strong connections with reputable agents who deliver professional opportunities
Casting Agents regularly communicate with us regarding the BSS students they are representing and are always on the look out for any fresh new faces - This can be life changing!
Children are always correctly licensed and all LEA regulations are adhered to. We are able to offer support and advice and it is also helpful for parents with children at the same agencies to advise and support each other...first hand experience is invaluable
Scholarships
Scholarships are open to all students who are in full time education and hold a BTDA grade 2 Certificate in either Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz or Tap
BTDA scholarships encourage students to develop their dance ability
With over 50 years of experience, BSS have taught thousands of students and many have successfully gained financial support for their education…transporting them on to professional careers
EDUCATION
BSS is very proud to be a registered Children's University learning destination where students are able to use their 'Passport to learning' with us. We reward their participation in voluntary learning activities that will develop their skills and raise aspirations for the future
We are also able to support students taking part in the 'Duke of Edinburgh' award scheme by offering a forum for them to undertake specific skill attainment
Accredited Examinations providing Ofqual/GQAL/QCF recognised qualifications support university UCAS points tariff
Career
We are very proud to assist all students with their future careers, whether they choose a career in the performing arts or use the transferable skills they have attained in another field
Students build life long personal and social skills that can reward them in any career
Over the years, many of our students have moved into further arts-based education, whether it be performance college or university. We also have a lot of students who have secured their chosen secondary school due to the work and skills completed with BSS. Our students often request references to assist them in their applications, and they are always successful!
